Testing

I'm testing my ability to post straight from my Droid. This is a nice feature that may help me write and upload pictures and videos more regularly.

Starting from Scratch

Greetings to everyone who is taking the time to read what I am taking the time to write!

I will start with a brief introduction. Some of my titles include: wife, mother, Christian, teacher, daughter, sister, friend, and homeowner. I became a daughter and sister when I was born. I've been a friend, and not always the best one even though I try, for as long as I can remember but most specifically since 1999 when I met most of the friends who I now call my family. As for my faith, I suppose I would credit the year 2003 for creating the Christian I am today. I became a girlfriend to my future husband in 2004 and his wife in 2008, after we were homeowners in 2007. (Side note - we did not live together until we were married. I'm not trying to brag or boast, just specify). I became a teacher in 2005. Most recently I became a learner again, I mean Mother, in 2009. Oh, and a Master's graduate in 2010. Wow. Those titles come with a lot of connotations and stereotypes. I'm sure your thinking of many of them now. Please disregard them all. I have always felt like a rebel to stereotypes. That probably stems back to my high school days when I managed to be a thespian, basketball cheerleader, band geek, Girl Scout, and varsity tennis player all at once.

Regardless of the preconceived notions that come with these titles, this is me. This is who I am and most of what I'll be blogging about. I can hear some of you saying, "Sure! We've tried to follow a few of your other "blogs" which lasted about a month each!" Ah yes, after a plethora of failed blog attempts, I am bound and determined to create one that I will (really really try to) stick to. In order to truly achieve my goal, I cannot pressure myself to post daily, weekly or even monthly. Nor can I say that my posts have to have pictures or be a minimum of ____ words long. I must not restrict myself or I will fail. Again. I do not want to fail. Therefore I am leaving this blog up to whatever comes into my mind at whatever date I can happen to write about it. Hence PART of the reason I titled it "Metacognitive Momma". I'll explain the full reason for the alliterative title in a later post. I've already surpassed my allotted time for typing today. Nap time on snow days is precious, and this girl's gotta clean her house!

Thanks for reading what I HOPE will be the first of many fabulous blogs. Feel free to subscribe and push me to post.

That is, if you like what I have to say. ;-)
